The good stuff

Hackathons are
better together.

Hacktoberfest is a celebration of open source. This Hack Day turns that spirit into a friendly, hands-on day of learning, making, and shipping.

01

Start small.
Think big.

Bring a tiny idea or join a team. The best project is the one you actually start.

02

Learn in
public.

Get unstuck with the cracked people around you and the guides set up by the organizers.

03

Ship the
weird thing.

Open-source tools and open-weight AI make it easier to turn “what if?” into “look at this.”

Meet cracked
builders.

find your people, make your thing

The day, roughly

The plan, without
the boring bits.

A generous day of building, learning, snacking, and showing off the thing you made.

Doors open

Grab a name tag, meet your people, find a table.

Welcome & warm-up

What is open source? What are we building? Let’s get into it.

Make mode

Workshops, mentors, teams, snacks. The messy middle begins.

Show & tell

Demo what you made, celebrate the process, pick a favourite.

Good to know

Open to
everyone.

Students, first-time hackers, creative coders, designers, tinkerers, and curious humans. You do not need to be an expert - you just need to show up.

Questions, answered

Curious minds
ask good questions.

Nope. Hack Days are for all skill levels. You can bring design, research, writing, ideas, or just your curiosity. Every project needs more than code.

Anything you can explain in a sentence. A playful tool, a helpful site, an experiment with open-weight AI, or a thing that makes your friends say “wait, how?”

Hacktoberfest Hack Days are free to attend. Registration and check-in happen through OrganizerHQ via the official MLH event listing.
